The Roanoke Girls: A Novel
This book was so good! I mean, it was kind of obvious and there wasn't really much mystery, but the story was somehow... compelling. The writing style made it so easy to get swept along this family drama, which could have easily been tacky and crude, but somehow it just worked. It wasn't groundbreaking or mindblowing, but I never got the feeling that it was trying to be... even though it touched on some heavy crap.
